Welcome to Character Appreciation, a blog series that will run for the whole year alongside Project 10. Each week we'll take a look at one Total Drama character, what we like and dislike about them, how they've grown, and what we hope to see from them in the future. I'm Raised By Wolves, and this week, we'll be looking at The Female Bully, Eva!
Overview[]
Eva debuts onto Total Drama in Not So Happy Campers - Part 1. She quickly establishes her place as one of the strongest campers, performing well in both challenges of Not So Happy Campers - Part 2, as well as The Big Sleep. Unfortunately, Eva turns out to be Heather's first victim, due to her strength. She returns in No Pain, No Game due to the producers interfering and getting her back in. She vows revenge against the only remaining Killer Bass female, Bridgette, but gets voted off again due to her unpopularity. For the next two seasons, Eva serves as an Aftermath commentator.
Opinions[]
Eva is an awesome, funny character who I personally believe deserves more screen time than some random gags (Ah, forget this!). The fact that she's had successful gags on the show proves that she can do well with some extra screentime and a plot. Here's one simple reason – her vulnerability. You can see it dotted around Total Drama Island. In The Big Sleep, Eva nervously apologizes to her team after Heather gives her MP3 player back. Eva clearly feels remorse. During her elimination, Eva says that her temper "got the better of her, again," showing that Eva does want to change, but simply has trouble doing so. With some development, they can show Eva's temper simmering down, as she uses her competitive abilities and massive strength to her advantage, potentially dominating in challenges. I LOVED her return in No Pain, No Game and I was hoping she would last long, too bad she was eliminated in the same episode. In Total Drama, Drama, Drama, Drama Island, Eva listens to Izzy's leadership and works well in Team E-Scope, showing that she's learned from her violent ways previously. I think Eva should return for a future season. I enjoy seeing her and I've loved all her moments.
