Welcome to Character Appreciation, a blog series that will run for the whole year alongside Project 10. Each week we'll take a look at one Total Drama character, what we like and dislike about them, how they've grown, and what we hope to see from them in the future. I'm JIMBOYKELLY, and we're going to start our thirty-fifth week by looking at The Multiple Personality Disorder Mike!
Overview[]
Mike immediately becomes attracted to Zoey when he debuts. However, he does not want her to know that he has Multiple Personality Disorder. What makes it even harder is that one of his alternate personalities becomes attracted to another girl on the show. After struggling with them for several episodes, Mike turns to Cameron to help keep his personalities a secret. However, once the teams merge, Scott threatens to reveal Mike's secret to Zoey if he doesn't help him win the challenge. Eventually, Mike refuses to help Scott, not caring if his secret was revealed. Mike eventually tells Zoey that he has Multiple Personality Disorder, and she tells him that it just means there's more Mike to love. Despite this personal victory, Mike is eliminated in that same episode.
Mike returns as a contestant in Total Drama All-Stars. By now, Zoey is completely used to all of his alternate personalities. However, after he is hit in the head, a new personality, Mal, appears. This personality acts mean and creepy, and laughs at other peoples' misfortunes. However, Mike and Zoey eventually come up with a plan to free the former from Mal. They try to re-enact what made Mal appear by dropping a boulder on his head. Unfortunately, this resulted in Mal gaining full control of Mike. However, Mike managed to rescue all of his personalities and reach the Tower of Mal. But when they get to the top, they realized that the only thing they can do to defeat Mal is to press the reset button, which would get rid of all of Mike's personalities except Mike and Mal. After defeating Mal, Mike regains control and wins Total Drama All-Stars.
Opinions[]
If you don't already know, Mike is my favorite Total Drama character. I don't get why everyone says he's bland. Each of his personalities offer something unique. Chester is his most funny personality (although he didn't offer anything useful), Svetlana is a professional athlete, Vito has super strength, and Manitoba is an adventurous treasure hunter.
