The same goes for my opponent. I would love to put him in charge of a lot if I win. I think he has a lot of good ideas too. Same with his vice president; I'd love to give them both roles. Same with a certain future admin; I have lots of respect for him especially.
I actually think that all of the admins and rollbacks need to play a role in that. Thus, my idea to have a council. I think that would also play a big role in organizing the wiki. I've had a few issues in the past where lack of organization caused some pretty irritating events. This is due to rushing into events and not having a good system for distributing information. There's a lot that could be done to fix that issue though, so it really isn't so much of a problem as it is an issue. It can and will be solved easily.
On a completly different note, I want to make a few statements on several of the things my opponent has been saying. He has been promising rollback powers to many, many people. That is all very well, but I don't see why making more people rollbacks is benificial to the wiki. Sooner or later, if we start with that, powers will become less of a privilidge, and more of a given. Then it will end up that, eventually, over half of the wiki is admins. Then it wouldn't be as special anymore. Plus, we need to be only give powers to people who have proved themselves worthy of powers. Not the people we like. The people who have spent weeks and weeks editing pages, reverting vandalism, helping with things on the wiki, those are the people that deserve powers. I have to say, if you haven't been on the wiki more than a month or two, most likely more, you do not deserve powers yet. And, I will say it right now, I don't promise to start handing out powers and thanks points and special positions to people who vote for me. That's just how it is.
And, "Rollback for a week" would backfire very, very fast. Same with the "vote with one edit" thing. It's just logic.
I'm not trying to insult you WM. I'm not personally attacking you or anything of that sort. I'm just stating the facts. Many of the things you suggested will not help the wiki become a better, easier to navigate, safer, or more helpful place. Most of them are just contests and other "fun" things that will just distract from the true purposes of the wiki, which is to build up a wiki full of facts; an entire database of information that we collectively built up. Isn't that rewarding in itself? I mean, the roleplay is fun, and so are the forums; having disscussions and such is always nice. But really, if we blind ourselves with contests and games and battles for adminship and powers, then what are we doing? We're not fufilling the original goals of the wiki. And that, by chain effect, will ruin the wiki.
Right now, I really hope we make the right desicion; by "we" I mean the entire wiki collectively. Because, if we make the wrong desicion, the results could be disasterous. I'm not fighting to win myself, I'm fighting for the wiki as a whole. I want us to all make the right choice. Although "right" is subjective, I hope we all have our hearts in the right place when deciding who we want to lead us.WM, if you were offended by any of the content in this message, please tell me. I will then be sure to write you an apology.
