Total Drama: Revenge of the Island (originally titled Total Drama Reloaded) is the fourth season of Total Drama.
Summary
During Total Drama World Tour, Chris rented out Camp Wawanakwa to a toxic waste disposal company, which used it as their main dump. By the time Chris bought it back for the new season, it was filled with bio-hazardous toxic waste, affecting the island and its inhabitants; making it more dangerous for a new generation. The cast of thirteen is divided into two teams and must compete in many deadly, disgusting, and humiliating challenges. One by one, they are eliminated in a manner similar to the original season, but with a twist; when the bottom two is reached, the person whose name is called last is the one who is eliminated, and thus receives the last marshmallow, which is toxic. After the camper is eliminated, they are catapulted off the island in the Hurl of Shame. The last contestant standing is crowned the winner and receives the $1,000,000, as the host is arrested at the end of the season.

Twelve new character designs were posted by former director Todd Kauffman on his blog.
It was confirmed through cleverly hidden hints that these characters were, in fact, part of Total Drama: Revenge of the Island, because of a crossword puzzle posted on Thornton's blog that included the season name, Chris' name, Chef's name, and twelve of the thirteen new contestants' names:

These characters' participation was finally confirmed in Christian Potenza's video, when at the very first recording session for season four, a new voice actor showed the camera a long, black and white sheet with twelve of these characters on it. The black bars over their eyes were gone, but it was still hard to see them. In addition, previously unknown twelfth and thirteenth characters was also seen alongside them. The first character, from a first hand glance, resembles the intern from Total Drama Island and Total Drama Action, who is DJ's original design, and his name was confirmed to be "B" in March 2011. The second character was Dawn.
An interview with Chad Hicks and Keith Oliver revealed that some of the original twenty-two campers would be making brief cameo appearances throughout the season.
Elimination

The process of elimination in this season is somewhat similar to the one in Total Drama Island. However, while the elimination is still around the Campfire and the symbols of safety are still marshmallows, there is a twist: When the bottom two is reached, the person whose name is called next is the one who is "eliminated," not safe. Subsequently, that person must catch the final marshmallow; the Marshmallow of Toxic Loserdom, which is toxic. Afterwards, they are seated in a massive catapult on the Dock called the Hurl of Shame and are launched out of the competition.

History
The existence of the fourth season was confirmed on the Total Drama Production Blog on January 18, 2010. The title was left unknown until it was confirmed by Christian Potenza in a YouTube video that was originally called "Total Drama Reloaded." Keith Oliver and Chad Hicks directed this season just as they did the third season, Total Drama World Tour, only without the assistance of Jennifer Pertsch and Tom McGillis. It is taking place in Camp Wawanakwa as the first season did, but the site is now a biohazardous toxic waste dump, altering the environment greatly.
Netflix
Total Drama: Revenge of the Island has been released onto Netflix. This season has unedited dialog and full screen, 16:9 aspect ratio. It also includes all the episodes of the season.
Cameos
Although this is the first season of the series to not feature a single one of the veteran contestants competing, all of them (excluding Blaineley) appeared in the very beginning of Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er! before Chris introduced the new cast. After this moment, a handful of the original characters were seen once more throughout the season in separate cameo appearances. Some are brief appearances with little to no impact on the show, while others are much more significant and often have the challenge revolve around them (often without the consent of the contestant that appears).

- Eva, Noah, Justin, Katie, Tyler, Cody, Beth, Sadie, Courtney, Harold, Trent, Geoff, Leshawna, Sierra, Blaineley, and Alejandro are the only original contestants to not make cameo appearances (except their appearance in the first episode of the season).
- Out of these, Courtney, Harold, and Leshawna are the only contestants who participate all three seasons to not make an additional appearance.
- Interestingly, Harold was initially stated to make an appearance, but the idea was scrapped before the final release.
- None of the newcomers who were introduced in Total Drama World Tour made additional cameo appearances in this season.
- Out of these, Courtney, Harold, and Leshawna are the only contestants who participate all three seasons to not make an additional appearance.
- It is revealed in The Enchanted Franken-Forest that three years have passed since the first season ended.
