Forum: Information > Staff
Not to be confused with Forum:List of overall staff or Forum:List of staff.

This forum is about staff. If a user meets a certain criteria and works hard enough for a period of time, they may be considered for a promotion to a staff member. Since the introduction of discussions moderators in 2021, there are currently five staff positions implemented on this wiki: administrators, bureaucrats, content moderators, discussions moderators, and discord moderators.

Administrators

Administrators, commonly referred to as admins for short, can access a variety of functions. In order to become an administrator, a user must typically be a content moderator for a long period of time.

Abilities

  • Can block a user
  • Can delete and undelete pages and files
  • Can edit the interface by changing system messages and skins
  • Can mute, kick or ban a user from the discord server
  • Can lock and unlock a page from being edited by regular users
  • Can participate in staff discussions about promotions, demotions, and blocks
  • Can rollback a string of edits made by the same user
  • Can grant discussions moderator rights
  • Can access Reported Posts
  • Can delete or undelete discussions posts, blog comments, and message wall posts
  • Can lock or unlock discussions and message wall threads

Restrictions

  • Cannot grant or remove administrator, bureaucrat, content moderator rights

Bureaucrats

Bureaucrats, commonly referred to as b-crats for short, do not hold as much power as administrators but have the ability to promote, demote, and block other users. In order to become a bureaucrat, a user must typically be an administrator for a long period of time.

Abilities

  • Can block a user
  • Can grant or remove administrator, bureaucrat, content moderator, or chat moderator rights

Content moderators

Content moderators, commonly referred to as CMs for short, were introduced as a replacement for rollbacks in 2017. They are more powerful than discord moderators and discussions moderators but less powerful than administrators and bureaucrats. In order to become a content moderator, a user must typically edit frequently and be active in the community.

Promotions

There are three main things that the wiki's staff look for in an ideal staff member: activity level, behavior, and value. The staff looks to promote users who edit frequently, avoid conflict, and participate in community discussions. An administrator, content moderator, or chat moderator who fails to make an edit for over 30 days is considered inactive and may be demoted to a regular user.
