Forum: Proposals > Adding Freenemies Category

I think adding a "Freenemies" category between Friends and Enemies would help the interactions page to be more detailed.

Why?

Many characters are "neutral" on each other, many times does bad things to each other but others interact just fine, example is Gwen and Lindsay, a very twisted relationship that isn't considered a friendship, but still holds the category due to the absence of a "neutral". Due to they various mixed interactions, mostly friendly in TDI and mostly enemies in TDA, putting them as "freenemies" would be the more appropriate. The same would happen to.

Other one that could be used as a example is Cody and Heather. During most of they interactions, Cody is the only one who is friendly to Heather and she is mostly rude and non-caring to him and Sierra. Still, the wiki consider them as friends, not one-sided but actual friends, despite they poor number of good interactions, this is all Alejandro's fault, as they both share a rivalry with him and have some small friendly moments. As they only are friends if Alejandro is involved, both could be easily considered as freenemies as well.

Other Examples

  • Jo and Duncan
  • Duncan and Scott
  • Lindsay and Duncan
  • Heather and Al
  • DJ and Heather
  • Harold and Heather

Support (Neutral)

Oppose (Freenemy)

  1. Frenemis huh? That would be too many to list out, especially for those with Everyone pages and especailly Duncan-related pages. Find it unnecessary. PhoenixDragonSamurai 31st Jan 2016
  2. lists are overrated. You're made to shine under the stars, laying in my arm. I love you. (talk) 01:39, January 31, 2016 (UTC)
  3. You know what? I switch. Both friendship and conflict category seems to be enough. When their relationship changes, one of them will be removed. ArtDraw12
  4. No point of a frenemy page. User:Princess Cloudy And Arty, you realise you can delete your previous edit.

  1. If anything, frenemy is much better idea. - ArtDraw12

Discussion

But being "frenemies" is different from being neutral. I can see how a frenemy interaction category would be beneficial, but confusing it as neutral, or for people who barely interact is kind of messy. --So Long, Soggy McGee 01:43, January 31, 2016 (UTC)

^^Practically what i am trying to say but couldnt find the words to elaborate it. PhoenixDragonSamurai 31st Jan 2016

Having a category for frenemies is a maybe, but I'm really not sure about including it on the character template. That's for if they are currently friends, enemies, or neutral, where one side will always take precedence.
Also wouldn't call Anne Maria and Cameron frenemies, neither of them hate each other at all, even if it's a very weird friendship. While Cameron and Jo is quite clearly a conflict, as they've never been friends, at best enemies that respect each other. --"In my mind, I'm always running from zombies, and if you're not, YOU'RE CRAZY!!!" Also, Lindsay and Duncan, Duncan and Jo,& Duncan and Scott cannot have such category since no page for them exist. PhoenixDragonSamurai 31st Jan 2016

I've removed the interactions who are neutral from the list. Freenemy could be like a "rival", two people with the same goal, such as Cody and Heather eliminating Al or Scott and Duncan trying to win the competition, and only during this goal, they turn into friends (Cody and Heather) or enemies (Duncan and Scott). Freenemy can also be someone with a very mixed relationship who can't be described just as "neutral" because we don't know exactly how to categorize it. BTW, the ones that don't have pages are purely being used as examples. For "Neutral" category, another proposal would be needed. I can talk fluent Portuguese and Brazilian! From the way you describe it, Duncan and Harold, Gwen/Courtney, Heather and Sierra, Gwen/Sierra, Al and Duncan, Shawn and Sky, also consider as frenemy.

And you dont need to make another proposal. Just put a Neutral Section underneath Frenemy. PhoenixDragonSamurai 31st Jan 2016
