After the previous episode's elimination, a discussion of fears evolves into a fear-facing challenge, thanks to some eavesdroppers. Most of the campers conquer their fears, but a few others don't fare as well. In the end a camper is voted off for being too afraid to face his fear.
Plot[]
The episode picks up right after Katie's elimination, as it did in the previous episode. Sadie is depressed over the elimination of her best friend and is now sobbing uncontrollably in the Dock of Shame, with only Bridgette offering her comfort and support. Bridgette insists that Katie would want her to be strong and move on without her, which Sadie refuses to accept. Bridgette finally pulls Sadie away, who clings to the dock and manages to break a wooden plank before lamenting about missing Katie.
When Bridgette and Sadie return to the Killer Bass by the campfire, they are surprisingly joined by the Screaming Gophers, who bring some leftovers from their tuck shop party. Though they try to convince the Killer Bass that they're joining them out of kindness, Gwen finally admits that they're there because they can't go back to their cabin since Owen farted in it and they need to air it out. Beth offers Courtney a green jelly dessert with a gummy worm in it, which she refuses out of fear. Duncan asks if Courtney is on a diet, and she replies that she just does not like green jelly. Beth then brings it to DJ, who looks at the jelly and then frantically knocks it out of her hands, mistaking the gummy worm for a snake. After Cody shows him the gummy worm and tells him to relax, DJ apologizes for making a scene and explains that he's afraid of snakes. Tyler sympathizes and reveals that he's afraid of chickens.

Then everyone starts talking about their greatest fears: Beth is afraid of being covered in bugs, Harold is afraid of ninjas, and Heather is afraid of sumo wrestlers. Gwen says her fear is being buried alive, while Lindsay says her fear is walking through a minefield in high heels. Owen expresses his fear of flying, and Izzy reveals that she has a similar fear of being on an airplane. Geoff then says he's afraid of hail, calling it "small but deadly". Bridgette then expresses her fear of being alone in the woods. Sadie mentions that she is afraid of bad haircuts as she grabs the plank. Lindsay agrees, then changes her mind and claims that this fear is even more scarier than a minefield. Cody then expresses his fear of defusing a time bomb under pressure. Courtney claims she's not really afraid of anything, which is met with suspicion by many. Duncan expresses the most obscure fear of all: standees of Céline Dion in a music store. After Trent admits to being afraid of mimes, he insists that Courtney share her phobia, but she firmly asserts that she has none. Duncan reminds her of how scared she was when he told his scary story in the last episode, causing her to get snippy with him.
Tyler is horrified to see his worst fear.
Chris reveals the next challenge at breakfast the next morning: the campers will face their worst fears in a game he calls "Phobia Factor. "Leshawna wonders if it could be worse than the breakfast they just ate. Heather spits her drink in Trent's face when Chris calls her to the theater for sumo. Gwen is then told by Chris that she has a date with a few tons of sand at the beach. Lindsay asks how they knew what their fears were, and Gwen tries in vain to explain the nature of a "reality show" to the ditzy blonde. Chris asks Chef for a special order for Tyler, and Chef hands Tyler a piece of fried chicken. Tyler nervously bites the head off the chicken-shaped food, only to be startled when the head of a real live chicken pops out.
Lindsay and Sadie are forced to wear disgusting wigs for the challenge.
The campers gather outside near a worm-infested swimming pool, and it's Beth's turn to face her fear in order to complete the challenge. Beth shrugs her shoulders and jumps into the pool, burying herself in the worms and even eating some of them. The Gophers lead 1-0. Lindsay and Sadie are brought to the main lodge after revealing that their greatest fear is bad haircuts, and Chris brings two wigs for them to wear. Owen grabs one and puts it on, doing a ballet dance before tripping and collapsing. Chris gives the wigs back to the girls and puts them on their heads. Izzy and Owen are taken to a yellow airplane, that looks like it's about to fall apart, piloted by flight attendant Hatchet; as the plane flies haphazardly over the island, they both scream in horror.
Harold opens the stall door in the bathroom to find himself surrounded by three ninjas. He pulls out a pair of nunchucks and starts spinning them around expertly, but he hits himself in the head and falls unconscious into the toilet, which counts as a failure. Back outside, Leshawna faces with her greatest fear: a spider, or more precisely, Chef dressed as a giant spider ,but she flees screaming in horror as he follows her. Meanwhile, in the theater, Heather is pitted against a sumo wrestler. Heather panics and curls up into a ball, tripping the sumo wrestler and sending him bouncing into the distance, hitting a tree. The Gophers lead 2-0.
Bridgette begins her six-hour seclusion in the woods around the camp, and while she acts like she can handle it, she panics at the sight of a chipmunk at her feet looking up at her, and kicks it all the way to the lake. The camera pans to the beach, where Gwen is in a Plexiglas box, buried in the sand; she only has to stay there five minutes, and Trent promises he'll stay with her, talking to her on a walkie-talkie. The lid of the box closes, and she begins to be buried, starting with the sand blocking her face. Back at the theater, DJ is confronted with a tiny snake, and he's terrified of it, especially when it blinks. The other Bass try to cheer him up, especially Courtney, whose bossy demeanor leads her to demand that DJ just pick up the snake. Finally, DJ reaches down and picks up the snake, overcoming his fear. Bass are down 1-2.
Trent faces his worst fear: mimes.
With three minutes to go, Gwen is handling her challenge well enough, especially with Trent talking to her. To kill time, she asks him why he is so afraid of mimes. Trent explains that when he was four years old, he and his mother went to the circus to see the elephants, and he got so caught up in the spectacle that he lost sight of his mother in the crowd, and a pale mime came out of nowhere and started imitating him; he ran, but the mime followed him and wouldn't stop doing his routine. Trent is suddenly forced to face his fear as a mime approaches from behind and taps him on the back. Terrified, Trent flees screaming and loses his walkie-talkie. Gwen has no idea what has happened, but she is now alone in the face of her greatest fear.
Chris then takes Cody to his challenge of disarming a time bomb, in this case made of several trach cans; before fleeing, Chris tells him he has 10 minutes to disarm the bomb and hands him a set of blueprints. Trent continues to confront his own fear of mimes. As the mime chases him, they both stop for a moment. Trent tries to explain to the mime that there is no wall he is touching, and he sees the dock. Back at the camp, Duncan is confronted with a life-size cardboard cutout of Céline Dion. Courtney tries to calm him down, which inspires Duncan to run up to the cutout and hug it. The Gophers and the Bass are now tied 2-2. Courtney gives Duncan a congratulatory hug, but quickly pulls away as the heat of the moment wears off.
Trent is still being chased by the mime, pretending to be trapped in a box. Trent runs to the Dock of Shame and dives into the water; when the mime tries to chase him, Trent assures him that his makeup will run, so he gives up and walks away, leaving the score at 3-2, with the Gophers leading. Back on the beach, Geoff is napping in a chair when a tiny dark cloud appears overhead and begins to shower him with his worst fear: hail. As the hail begins to fall, Geoff flees screaming, and the miniature hail cloud follows him; Lindsay notices the cloud and thinks it's adorable, so she asks if she can have her own. Trent watches Chris control the cloud by remote and asks if he can make it go lower and hit Geoff harder. Chris calls Trent sick, but gladly agrees. Trent then asks Chris if he ever feels like he's missing something, to which Chris replies that he does all the time. It's not until Chris says he's going to bury Geoff in hail that Trent realizes that he's forgotten about Gwen.
Out in the woods, Bridgette is holding her own, but she still has over four hours to go when she hears an explosion. While digging up Gwen, Chris and Trent also hear the explosion, and Chris deduces that the explosion was Cody blowing himself up and failing his challenge. Cody, injured and covered in garbage, wanders through the woods in search of help, eventually coming across Bridgette, who is frightened away, thus failing her challenge.

On the beach, Gwen is fine and throws her walkie-talkie at Trent in anger for leaving her. The score is now 4-2, with the Gophers leading. Elsewhere, the plane lands, and Izzy and Owen exit just as the wings begin to fall off; though they have overcome their fears, they are relieved to be back on solid ground. The score is now 6-2, with the Gophers leading. Lindsay and Sadie are in the bathroom after wearing wigs all day, and thay take them off. They compliment each other on how cute they both look. The score is now 7-3, with the Gophers still leading.
Tyler is unable to face his fear of chickens, much to Courtney's anger.
Tyler is put outside in a chicken pen for three minutes, to give him another chance to face his fear. He gets in, but soon collapses into a fetal position in a corner. Courtney yells at him to stop acting like a girl, but Cody points out that the Bass are still too far behind to win. Chris then sweetens the deal by saying that the Bass have one more challenge left, which he will make worth three times their current score. The final challenge is Courtney's, and although she doesn't say what she's afraid of, the tape clearly shows her aversion to green gelatin, which she describes as looking like snot. Courtney is led to pool of a green jelly with a diving board and given the task of diving in for triple points. She climbs the unusually high diving board, and the Killer Bass try to convince her to jump, while the Screaming Gophers, especially Gwen, try to scare her away. Courtney decides she can't do it looking down and backs out, losing the challenge for the Bass. Owen lies in the green jelly, loving it, while Courtney beats herself up for losing the challenge.

Tyler discovers that his worst fear has been placed with him on the Boat of Losers.
At the campfire ceremony, Chris is down to the last two marshmallows, and the campers up for elimination have all failed to complete their challenges: Courtney, Bridgette, and Tyler. The next marshmallow is given to Bridgette and the last is given to Courtney after a few seconds of drama. Tyler is relegated to the Dock of Shame, where his former teammates and Chris taunt him with numerous bird-related puns before being reprimanded by Courtney. Discouraged and humiliated, Tyler cries on the Boat of Losers as he is surrounded by numerous chickens, likely placed there by Chris or Chef, causing him to scream.

- The Killer Bass was at an unfair disadvantage in this challenge. The score was based on how many people could overcome their fear, but the Killer Bass only had eight people, while the Screaming Gophers had nine, so they had a better chance of winning.
- Leshawna is the only camper whose greatest fear was never revealed at the campfire, but it was revealed the next day that she suffers from arachnophobia — a fear of spiders.
- There are a few technicalities in this episode:
- Heather technically did not overcome her fear because she is trying to avoid the sumo wrestler.
- Trent also avoids his fear and just tells the mime that he can't get wet, which drives him away.
- Tyler technically completes his challenge as he is asked to stay in the chicken pen for three minutes, which he does.
- Harold technically overcomes his fear of ninjas, but his efforts do not count because he knocks himself out.
- Cody also technically overcomes his fear of defusing a time bomb under pressure by not running away and being there for the explosion, but his efforts don't count because he didn't defuse the time bomb.
- Bridgette theoretically overcomes her fear, as her statement in the confessional indicates. However, her efforts do not count because she only escaped from the woods because of the garbage-covered Cody.
- Harold and Beth are the only campers who show no obvious fear when confronted with their phobias. This suggests that they may have been aware of the nature of the challenge, and used their real fears as a ruse.
- The final two of the season, Gwen and Owen, will eventually face their fears again in the future, which they have yet to overcome despite successfully facing them in this episode.
- This is the only episode between Katie's elimination and Sadie's elimination episode where Sadie has any lines.
